Liz Klassen Thomas

PASTORAL RESIDENT

Liz grew up in San Diego, came to Chicago for college and never left. For the last 19 years she has ministered in a lay leader in a small-but-mighty church in the western suburbs, where she worked as part of the preaching team, worship team, and kids ministry, and over the years has led small groups, the college ministry, and the prayer ministry. In 2024, God called her and her husband, Sean, to church planting, and connected them with the Evanston Vineyard. Before pursuing ministry, she was a professional kids musician, and worked in Academic publishing. She has a BA in Bible & Theology from Moody, and an MA in Biblical Exegesis from Wheaton College. She and Sean are passionate about ministering God’s tender compassion to those in the arts, those who have experienced trauma and poverty, and those who have experienced harm from Christians. They long to see lives transformed by encounters with the love of Jesus through the Holy Spirit. In her spare time, Liz still does some gigging and writes bios for adoptable rabbits at a local animal shelter.
